One of the first things you should learn in Russian is how to say да (yes) and нет (no). Никогда не знаешь, (you never know) when you’ll run into a situation where one of these simple terms могут помочь (can help) a great deal — where you’ll want to say да to an opportunity that comes your way or to practise turning down those you can’t manage.
